Producing around 85% of the world’s rose oil, the Bulgarian rose fields are not only a valuable economic asset but also part of a centuries-old tradition, and there is hardly a better way to enjoy these ancient lands than crossing them on bike. This is a 3-day cycling experience which is going to immerse you in one of the most unique regions of the country, filled with beautiful sceneries and rose flavor. Besides the natural sceneries you will also be able to enjoy the landmark wine of the region and some sites left by Thracians the most ancient inhabitants of the area.

To get the best experience on this trip we strongly recommend booking it at the beginning of June when the roses are collected and the area is full of life and rose flagrance !

Day 1. Panagyuriste – Starosel
Today a transfer brings us to the historical town of Panagyuriste where we will be able to have a short walk and lunch in the city. In the afternoon we depart on a 36km ride through the open fields towards the village of Starosel famous for its wineries.

Day 2. Starosel – Karlovo
Today we cycle to Karlovo, a city located at the footsteps of the Balkan Mountains famous for being the birthplace of the country’s most revered national hero – Vasil Levski, as well as an important regional center during the Bulgarian Revival Period. On the way we will pass through fields covered with roses, roman remains and some interesting villages.

Day 3. Karlovo - Rozovets - Kazanluk
Today we cycle for another 50 km across the local villages finishing at Rozovets. In case you would like to extend the cycling for the day, another 30 km could be added to Pavel Banya spa village. A transfer takes us to the town of Kazanluk where we will be able to visit the local Museum of the Rose as well as a replica to one of the major Thracian tombs in the area.
